Description

The Z-10 attack helicopter is development began in the mid-1990s. The Z-10 prototype conducted its maiden flight in 2003. The primary mission of the Z-10 is anti-armour and ban from the battlefield. It also has limited air-to-air combat capabilities.

      The Z-10 helicopter has a standard gunboat configuration with a narrow fuselage and stepped tandem cockpits. The gunner is seated in the front and the pilot is in the rear. The fuselage has sloping sides to reduce the radar section. It is believed that all vital areas are protected by armor plates.

      The Z-10 prototype is powered by two Canadian Pratt & Whitney PT6C-67C turboshaft engines, developing 1,531 hp each. This helicopter can be equipped with an electric flight control, a helmet sight for the head-up display, a television and forward-looking infrared sensors, radar and laser warning receivers, an infrared jammer and distributors of lures.
