Description: The A-6A Intruder Model Kit 01640 is a detailed representation of the American ground-attack aircraft A-6 Intruder. Designed as the replacement for the A-1 Skyraider, the A-6 Intruder is the US Navy's first all-weather attack aircraft. This A-6A version was equipped with the DIANE system, the most advanced navigation/targeting system of its time. Despite initial reliability issues, the A-6 Intruder quickly became the main strike force of the Navy and Marines, notably during the Vietnam War. In total, 480 A-6As were built, with 47 of them being upgraded to other variants.
