Historical Context:

The Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka, also known as "Cherry Blossom," was a manned flying bomb used by the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. Developed as a desperate measure to counter Allied naval superiority, the Ohka was intended to be carried to its target by a mother aircraft, typically a Mitsubishi G4M "Betty" bomber. Upon reaching its target, the Ohka pilot would release the aircraft and guide it towards the enemy ship using a simple joystick control system. Fitted with a large warhead, the Ohka was capable of causing significant damage to enemy vessels. Despite its destructive potential, the Ohka's effectiveness was limited by its short range and vulnerability to enemy defenses. Nonetheless, it remains an intriguing symbol of Japan's innovative yet desperate wartime tactics.
