Resin and photoetched parts kit. YD was the designation for a series of barges built from World War One through World War Two. YD stands for Floating cranes. The official designation appears as covered lighter non-self propelled. This type of barges could be used for light or heavy haulage from war damaged ships waiting for a dry dock . They could equally be used to move supplies, bulk cargo or ammunition to the depleted warships in the port. In other words, they were a lowly jack for off docks haulage. (Scale : 1/700e)
