The "Soviet (9P117M1) Launcher with R17 Rocket of 9K72 Missile Complex "Elbrus" (Scud B) 82939" model kit provides a detailed reproduction of the Soviet launcher (9P117M1) with the R17 rocket from the 9K72 "Elbrus" missile complex (Scud B). This 1:72 scale model accurately captures the details of this iconic Soviet missile system. Developed from the SS-1b Scud-A in 1957, the Scud evolved with variants SS-1c Scud-B (1961) and SS-1d Scud-C (1965). These missiles could carry a conventional explosive warhead, a 5- to 80-kiloton nuclear warhead, or a chemical warhead. The SS-1e Scud-D variant, developed in the 1980s, could deliver a terminally guided warhead for increased precision.
