The F4u-5 was the last US Navy F4u-4 (Buno.27296) on display. The aircraft featured a series of advanced technologies at the time, and the prototype was first completed on December 21, 1945

The F4U-5 has the best nose of all the "Corsairs". The 2300's R-2800-32W engine is redesigned with a new canopy installed. Due to the end of the war, production of F4U-5s was eventually limited to 233.
