Description

As the latest model in Germany's E-series doomsday vehicle program, the E100 served as the basis for a future series of super-heavy tanks. "Salamander" is a new type of tank destroyer developed on the basis of the E100 chassis. Prototypes were produced at the Henschel factory in Huistenbeek, on the outskirts of Paderborn. The main weapon is a 170mm anti-tank gun with a range of up to four kilometers, which can deal with any armored targets within this range. It was originally planned to be fitted with a coaxial 75mm gun similar to the "rat" tank, but because it was too derelict to take up ammunition and crew space. The shape of its combat exterior and the combination with the hull is reminiscent of the "Cheetah" tank destroyer. The front of the hull has 30 degree sloped armor with a thickness of up to 200 mm.

The car is powered by a 1,200 horsepower engine with a new transmission and is expected to reach a speed of 40 kilometers per hour.
