Description

The Fahrpanzer was a mobile artillery piece manufactured before the First World War in Germany, implemented in several German fortifications from 1890 and exported to several foreign military powers before the outbreak of hostilities.

After the start of the First World War, when the German army, like all other armies, ran out of artillery, again, like most other armies, it began to withdraw guns from inactive fortresses and use them in the front line. So many Fahrpanzers were also used in the trench positions.
