E-7PD Soviet Test Jet

Description

Experimental aircraft with shortened take-off and landing to develop lift engines of MiG-23PD aircraft. Besides R-13F-300 main engine the aircraft was equipped with two lift engines with thrust of 2, 350 kg each which were located aft pilot cabin at the center of aircraft mass. 900 mm insert of increased cross-section was made to accommodate lift engines. Air supply was carried out through lifted air intake. Landing gear was nonretractable. On 16 June 1966 the maiden flight was made by test pilot P.M.Ostapenko. The aircraft was demonstrated at Domodedovo Air Parade on June 1967. (Scale : 1/72e)
