Description

"We Build Excitement" was one of Pontiac's most memorable advertising campaigns, and from the looks of the 1987 Firebird® GTA, it wasn't just a throwaway line. New for 1987, the GTA was the ultimate Firebird. Pontiac stylists dressed it in a sleek, cleanly detailed body that featured a smooth front fascia, wraparound rear spoiler, and aerodynamic skirts around the lower edge of the car. Other features included monochrome exterior paint and subtle GTA badging on the front fenders.

Under the hood was a 5.7 liter (350 cu in) V-8 engine complete with tuned port fuel injection. it was good for 210 horsepower, with 315 lb-ft of torque. Other performance equipment includes Pontiac's legendary WS6 handling package and 16-inch diamond-spoke alloy wheels. Revell designers created this now classic 1/16 scale kit of the 1987 Firebird GTA when the car was new, but this is the first time it's been available in decades.
