The Bell AH1 Cobra is a combat helicopter produced in the mid-1960s by the American manufacturer Bell Helicopter. It is considered the first true combat helicopter and was first used during the Vietnam War. The designation "Cobra" refers to the helicopter's heavy armament originally designed as a transport helicopter.
